ACTUAL QUESTIONS OF 2,4-D 2-ETHYLHEXILE ESTER HYGIENIC AND ECOLOGICAL RISK ASSESSMENT IN UKRAINE

2,4-D 2-ethylhexile ester (2,4-D EHE) is of new herbicides, which are introduced for use in agriculture of Ukraine. Actual questions of 2,4-D EHE reglamentation in air of working zone, ambient air, water, soil and plant products are discussed, based on field studies during and long after boom spraying. Special studies were done in Black Sea region during appication of herbicide for rice protection. Risk assessment is done taking into account toxicologic evaluation of substance properties including its delayed effects (carcinogenic and mutagenic activity, reproductive toxicity, embryotoxic and allergic effects). Another part of study was done to check and compare the results of 2,4-D EHE passive dosimetry with its biomonitoring in blood and urine of operators, which are discussed and evaluated. Introduced and approved hygienic and ecological regulations of 2,4-D EHE in objects of environment maintain the current tolerant status of pesticides use with human and environmental health in the region. Principles of introduced 2,4-D EHE risk assessment model can be used for different pesticides and other xenobiotics.
